The Department of Statistics at Hasanuddin University (Unhas) proves its commitment to supporting the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) program by organizing a workshop in collaboration with the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of South Sulawesi Province. This event took place at the Statistics Corner of Unhas and featured speakers from Unhas statistics lecturers as well as representatives from BPS.
The workshop served as a forum for students and participants to deepen their understanding of statistical concepts relevant to MBKM. The topics covered various MBKM-related subjects such as communication and teamwork, internships, literacy and scientific presentation, talent development, activity management, innovation and design thinking, as well as digital communication.
Participants were encouraged to engage in discussions and Q&A sessions to deepen their understanding of the topics discussed. Additionally, the workshop provided an opportunity to build networks among students, lecturers, and practitioners from the BPS of South Sulawesi Province.
The collaboration between the Department of Statistics at Unhas and BPS of South Sulawesi Province in this workshop not only strengthens the relationship between the university and government institutions but also makes a tangible contribution to supporting the MBKM vision of creating an independent and innovative learning environment for Indonesian students. Hopefully, this workshop will be the first step in promoting wider and more effective use of statistics in the context of education and community development.
