Department of Statistics Hasanuddin University Socializes Career Potential and Development of Statistics in South Sulawesi Schools

The Department of Statistics at Hasanuddin University (UNHAS) has launched a socialization program aimed at introducing the department and the career potential in the field of statistics to high school students in the South Sulawesi region. This activity is part of the Department of Statistics’ efforts to enhance understanding of the importance of statistical science and to provide insights into career opportunities in this field.

This socialization is held to broaden students’ understanding of statistics, which is often regarded as a complex discipline yet plays a significant role in various aspects of life. Through this program, the Department of Statistics at UNHAS hopes to inspire the younger generation to consider promising careers in statistics.

The socialization includes a series of activities such as presentations, interactive discussions, and Q&A sessions. Students are allowed to explore various aspects of statistical science, including basic concepts, data analysis techniques, and the application of statistics in daily life and the workforce.

The response from schools participating in this program has been very positive. Teachers and students appreciate the efforts of the Department of Statistics at UNHAS in providing new insights into statistical science and related career opportunities. Some students have even expressed interest in further exploring this field after participating in this socialization.

The Department of Statistics at UNHAS plans to continue developing similar programs in the future, hoping to create a more statistically literate generation and encourage their interest in exploring careers in this field. Thus, it is hoped that a more skilled and qualified workforce will be created in the field of statistics, contributing positively to development and innovation in the future.
